For Entrepreneurs

 Many entrepreneurs seek funding, but are unable to obtain bank financing if their credit is not strong. Economic Ventures, Inc., a non-profit organization, provides free assistance in credit rehabilitation and repair, basic credit management, and one-on-one credit counseling, partnering with the client to address long-range credit issues.

If you have poor credit – or merely wish to improve your current credit score – Economic Ventures will work with you to increase it – FREE of charge. While affecting your credit score might take several months or longer, Economic Ventures will assist you in developing and executing your credit rehabilitation.

Individual Counseling

  • Retrieve & review credit reports

  • Review and discuss factors affecting Beacon Score

  • Identify credit strengths & weaknesses

  • Develop action plan to address derogatory information

  • Instruct how to handle disputed information

  • Discuss strategies to rehabilitate or just generally improve Beacon Score

  • Instruct how to use credit responsibly

  • Provide guidance on basic banking skills

  • Provide guidance on personal and/or family budgeting

  • Provide ongoing counseling through processes as needed

(Note:  If client is seeking a loan from EVI, the Credit Counselor will also keep the Loan Administrator apprised of client progress.)

Classes are scheduled throughout the community (i.e. Career Center, Townview Learning Center, Disability Resource Center, etc.) and rotate through Economic Ventures “Back to Basics Thursdays!” training sessions (1-2 times per year).
