March 2012 SCORE Contractor's Workshop

How many times have you asked yourself that question ?

The answer is not all that different for independent Contractors who operate as painters, electricians, plumbers, builders, and other contractural services.

We invite you to attend a workshop designed to help you, as a small business owner, to take a time out for a day and analyze your operation. You may think it's perfect the way it is but it never hurts to keep it tuned up.

This workshop will meet on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 and will require an eight hour investment of your time. The series costs a total of $ $100.00 payable upon registration. The price includes beverages at two breaks, lunch, and a thumbdrive with various business forms as well as a Contractor's Workbook we designed to help you set your labor rates.This is normally sold alone for $75.00.

A detailed questionnaire is required to be completed one week prior to attandance in order that the instructors can better prepare to help your specific business challenges. The questionnaire needs to be downloaded after you register.

SCORE instructors, who have a heavy background in contracting businesses, will lead your involvement dealing with specific issues that are common to "The Trades." i.e. business image, handling cash flow, record keeping, job costing, proposals and contracts, and using the latest technolgies for communication and advertising.

When the Workshop is completed you will be asked if there are other areas of operation you might want to cover in greater detail. This could include basic courses in handling spreadsheets, accounting software, or getting tied in to the new technological world we are living in as see how you can take advarage of it.
